We’re so used to seeing the hosts of It’s Showtime looking chic and polished, but on Saturday at the Kapamilya Thank You Day in Alonte Sports Arena, Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Karylle, and Coleen Garcia took things a notch higher with different bold style and beauty moves. Here are the fab results:
Bold beauty move: Coleen Garcia’s #MakeupbyCholeng
Yes, the porcelain-skinned doll actually did her own makeup for the live show hence the hashtag partly derived from her nickname. While she’s been dolling herself up for quite a while, she usually enlists the help of a makeup artist for big shows and events so doing her own makeup for the jampacked show in Biñan was a major move. We love her natural, peachy look, which perfectly complemented her dress. Channel Coleen: Experiment until you find the right shades and products for you (the makeup associates in malls would be of great help, too). Learning how to do your own makeup, at the very least, the basics, is an essential life skill.
Bold style move: Karylle’s Wet Look
For her production number with Billy Crawford, Karylle went all out: As part of their “Set Fire to the Rain” performance, was, of course, the rain effect—and boy, did she put the wet look totally in style. Her classy dress hugged her figure in all the right places, still maintaining that sophisticated vibe despite its soaked state. Her hair and makeup also had just the right amount of sexiness to them, post-downpour. Channel Karylle: While you won’t really go around asking for water to be splashed on you, there’s always the rain to dampen your plans and your look. As a general rule, avoid piling on makeup unless you really have to because the thicker it is, the worse it’s going to look when you get wet. And always have a game on attitude so that no matter what you’re wearing, you can overcome any challenge.
Bold style move: Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda’s Total Transformation
The duo’s fierce “Anaconda” showdown was one of the show’s highlights, thanks in large part to their style transformation. Anne and Vice’s personal styles took a backseat for the meantime as they donned sexy body suits and larger than life wigs. They, of course, matched their punchy looks with loads of attitude, carving their own definition of power dressing. Channel Anne and Vice: Never be afraid to go out of your comfort zone, be it fashion-wise or beauty-wise. It’s always good to try different looks from time to time—that’s the true beauty of clothes and makeup.
