Time does fly so fast.
Launching in 2009, “It's Showtime” initially started as a morning show, but then was moved to the noontime slot, where it gained a massive following and had excellent TV ratings. Six years later, Showtime remains to be a dominant force in all noontime shows.
As they celebrated their sixth anniversary at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on September 26, Kapamilya stars celebrated together with the “It's Showtime” hosts, comprising of Ryan Bang, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta, Karylle, Anne Curtis, Jhong Hilario, Eric Tsai, Billy Crawford, Coleen Garcia, Kim Atienza, Vhong Navarro, and Vice Ganda.

Being its sixth year, here are six moments that are worth remembering during #ShowtimeKapamilyaDay:
Big Brother’s announcement to the PBB 737 Big 4:
PBB 737 Big 4 performing ABBA's "Mamma Mia"
Gimme 5 performing Menudo's "Explosion"
Well, it was fun while it lasted, as the Big 4 of Pinoy Big Brother 737, comprising of Bailey Mae, Ylona Garcia, Franco Rodriguez, and Jimboy Martin were told by Big Brother to return to “Bahay ni Kuya” after their interpretation of ABBA’s “Mamma Mia” lost to Gimme 5’s interpretation of Menudo’s “Explosion” during the “Clash of Celebrities” segment.
For both teams, it was a challenge to showcase their interpretation of ABBA and Menudo as these groups are older than them. In fact, it’s like the Big 4 of PBB 737 and Gimme 5 performed an interpretation of the music their parents would listen to!
Enrique Gil kneeling down to Liza Soberano:
While blossoming love team LizQuen went up on stage to sing “Forevermore”, Enrique decided to kneel down in front of Liza as if he was going to propose to her. After that, Enrique teases Liza by pretending to kiss her, which ended up with Enrique hugging Liza. LizQuen fans were screaming in joy with the kilig factor between the two.
Very, very kilig-inducing.
We know that Enrique is waiting for the right time that he can court Liza (specifically once Liza turns 18), so this must be one of those early signs that Enrique is indeed serious with Liza.
Vice Ganda kissing Karylle:
The loveteam ViceRylle is a popular loveteam in “It's Showtime” such that both Vice and Karylle show their love for each other on stage. To what extent? With Vice, donning a rockstar outfit and singing Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl”, going down the stage and kissing Karylle, to the latter’s surprise and to the audience cheering for team ViceRylle.

Who said that Vice is not comfortable with kissing a girl? On a sidenote: Good thing Karylle's husband, Sponge Cola frontman Yael Yuzon, is a good sport after that stunt Vice did to her.
Showtime hosts do a “Your Face Sounds Familiar” segment:
Yes, even the hosts of “It's Showtime” are big fans of “Your Face Sounds Familiar”, so it is fun to see Billy as Gary Valenciano, Karylle as Gloc-9 (with husband Yael Yuzon accompanying her) and Jugs and Teddy as the legendary Pinoy rock duo Mike Hanopol and Pepe Smith.

This is followed by Jhong as April Boy Regino, Vhong as Ely Buendia, and the segment concluded with “Your Face Sounds Familiar” winner Melai Cantiveros as Rihanna. All of them did their respective impersonations well, to the delight of the crowd.

Coco Martin surprising Pastillas Girl:
Pastillas Girl is still in the search for her Mr. Pastillas, and for this special, she had an unexpected suitor in the form of Coco Martin, who serenaded her on stage, and even hugged her several times. Being known as the “yummy” actor, Coco also gave some advice to Pastillas Girl on finding love, even joking that “iba magmahal ang probinsyano,” in reference to Coco’s upcoming teleserye “Ang Probinsyano”.
JaDine, LizQuen, and KathNiel unite in one stage:
The sixth anniversary show of “It's Showtime” ended with a big bang as it united three of the biggest love teams right now on one stage. Comprising of JaDine, LizQuen, and KathNiel, the loveteam trinity serenaded the crowd, with their respective fans cheering and screaming at this very rare and unifying moment.

What made the finale significant is that for a moment, the clash between their respective fans was disregarded and they simply showed their appreciation and respect for each other.
