Kim Chiu is a perennial mainstay on Best Dressed Lists, whether or not it’s the Star Magic Ball, and way before all the ladies stepped up their style game for this highly anticipated annual celebration of Star Magic artists, Kim has already mastered the art of looking fabulous in the truest sense. In 2010, while many donned elaborate gowns with lavish trains, Kim stood out in a piece that married opulence and subtlety.
She was a vision in white as she walked down the red carpet in a Francis Libiran mermaid number with a fitted bodice embellished just right, finished off with layers of soft pleats forming the hem and the train. She wore minimal accessories (only drop earrings, a simple bracelet, and a basic clutch), all of which stayed true to her white and gold theme.
The gown’s silhouette showed off her lithe frame, and though the sweetheart neckline made it look dainty, the low cut back, highlighted by her chic updo, lent classy sexiness.
Many women think heavy smoky eyes are the only way to go during formal events—Kim proved this otherwise. Though she went for light and fresh makeup, she still looked every bit regal and glowing all night (a beautiful complexion, well-groomed brows, and wide-awake peepers really make a world of difference).
White is a brave choice for formal wear (as it's often associated with bridalwear), so Kim earned a lot of style points for this ensemble, but more than that, it’s how effortlessly pulled together—like she came prepared but did not obsess over her look—she was that makes her a winner in our book. Can’t wait to see how she’ll wow us on September 12!
