We already know that the Big Apple is not only a concrete jungle where dreams are made of: It’s also gastronomic heaven, home to some of the world’s best comfort food—it will actually be such a shame to not be able to try at least some in your lifetime. But, how about we take things to the next level and authentic New York cuisine, flavors, and culinary techniques with Filipino classics?
Doing just that is New York Pinoy Deli (NYPD) located in Resorts World Manila, whose New York-Manila fusion menu—from their NYC signature juicy burgers and sandwiches to their pizza and pasta and Filipino classics—will pique your interest and tastebuds. “NYPD is built on the strong foundation of a New York deli with the idea of bringing very chic, wholesome, home-cooked food from New York to Manila,” says Resorts World Manila Chief Hotel Operations Officer Scott Sibley.
Comfort food to comfort you whatever mood you’re in? These Filipino dishes with a Big Apple twist fit the bill:
Tinapa Pasta. Go on a gastronomic adventure with this zesty fusion dish made of smoked fish, crab roe, ripe tomatoes, salted eggs, garlic, and olive oil balanced by an ample serving of spaghetti pasta.
Chicken Adobo. This ultimate Pinoy favorite has also captured the hearts of New Yorkers, and NYPD’s version caters to both discerning palates.
Laing Lasagna. NYPD’s most unique entrée is a modern take on the popular vegetables, dried taro, and ginataan dish—spread between lasagna sheets, it suddenly tastes new yet is still familiarly delicious.
Besides these must-try dishes, they also have pure NYC delights, like the Reuben Sandwich (thinly sliced pastrami, Gruyere cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing on rye bread), Fresh Roast Turkey Sandwich (roast turkey in bacon, lettuce and tomato plus onions on sesame seed bun), and Rainbow Room Monte Cristo (ham, turkey, and Camembert cheese on loaf bread).
