All good things come to an indefinite hiatus.
Urbandub, the Cebu-based Pinoy rock group, held its farewell concert entitled “Endless” on May 9 at the Metrotent Convention Center. The band, comprising of guitarist-vocalist Gabby Alipe, bassist-vocalist Lalay Lim-Geronimo, guitarist-vocalist John Dinopol, and drummer Janjan Mendoza, held a gig that is tagged to be their last gig together.
Even if it was raining on that day, the band known for their hit “First of Summer” delivered a spectacular performance performing songs from their first album to their latest album “Esoteric”.
Being in the industry for 15 years, Urbandub has achieved several accolades from being a band from Cebu to one of the most popular Filipino bands in the country. With six albums and several singles under their belt, they have contributed a lot to the Filipino rock scene.
Quoting from music photographer Nina Sandejas, who has seen the band grow through the years, “their achievements paved a path for future bands to follow.”
