This July, get ready to see Pia Wurtzbach in a whole new light. The Miss Universe 2015 is poised to take on a whole new venture, starting with this month’s dazzling cover of Metro Magazine. From classic beauty, to ultra glamazon, this month’s glossy pages are homage to the incredible style and resilience of our generation’s crowned Miss Universe. At 27 years old, she has made herself a pop-culture icon as the third Filipina to bring home the coveted title, and one of the most celebrated beauty queens in pageant history. Now, a year after her reign, Pia is just getting started, as all eyes are eagerly waiting her next big showcase.

What’s more, when one queen’s journey passes on, another is just about to begin. We’ve got the exclusive story of our next contender for the Miss Universe title, Rachel Peters. JUNE 2017: PHILIPPINE FASHION FASHION ISSUE

On the anniversary of the iconic Summer of Love, Metro returns to San Francisco, for a rendezvous unlike any other. For this issue, they took the country’s newest romcom prince and princess Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano on a grand tour of the most beautiful sights of the city—the Golden Gate Bridge, the Piers at the Embarcadero, the Palace of the Fine Arts—baring witness to a budding romance that cuts across thousands of miles of this special city that celebrates individuality and youth culture.

 

And for its third year in a row, Metro also releases its Philippine Fashion Issue, with their annual retail awards as the highlight. This year honors a mix of megabrands and independent brands, proving that even local brands can also be global frontrunners. Other retail features include retail collaborations like Bayo and Francis Libiran with muse Kylie Verzosa, and Bench’s new venture—their own fashion week. This issue also celebrates beautiful morena skin, with lead pro makeup artist Archie Tolentino sharing his tops on how to make these bold looks your own.

 

You’ll see more of the Metro LizQuen adventure on the June cover shoot’s television special on Lifestyle (SkyCable channel 52) airing on June 10 Saturday at 8PM, with replays on June 14 at 9PM and June 16 at 6:30PM.

APRIL 2017: THE BODY ISSUE

The epic combination of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson, and Ellen Adarna’s intimate side unearths on the double cover of Metro Magazine’s 2017 Body Issue!

Here, Kim and Gerald also talk about their newfound passion for fitness and reunion for their new teleserye. Both have been training relentlessly for their new series—whether running, cycling, or swimming—and Metro helps the two showcase their best bodies ever as they recreate their 2010 Metro Body cover.

Vixen, goddess, temptress, muse—Ellen also electrifies in this issue, baring it all like we've never seen her before. This stunner channels the iconic Marilyn Monroe in her private moments, revealing her intimate side in a shoot to remember. Ellen is one woman who’s not afraid to flaunt her body, and she also works really hard to make sure it’s in tip-top shape.

This latest copy marks the maiden issue of Geolette Esguerra as Metro's new editor-in-chief. She has been part of Metro for seven years. Her first stint for the magazine was the cover story for Gretchen Barretto in April 2010 but she officially started as Features Editor three months later. She took over as Executive Editor in November 2014, and also edited several titles under ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc.—as editor-in-chief of Star Magic Catalogue in 2015 and Features Editor of Maven Magazine. Former Metro editor-in-chief Sarah Meier now acts as editor-at-Large and international correspondent for Metro Magazine.

Metro is a premiere fashion and lifestyle magazine in the country that aims to empower women. It is one of the titles published every month by ABS-CBN Publishing Inc.
