Actor-model Richard Gutierrez has been in the ‘biz for a while now—with countless TV shows, ad campaigns, and films to prove it. But this will be the first time that we’ll see the 33-year-old actor-model as a certified Kapamilya.
Now that’s he’s on board with ABS-CBN, we came up with all the reasons why we’re excited for this new chapter in his career! This is just the beginning for Richard, and we can’t wait for what his future in the network holds.
1. He’s already reuniting with former co-stars…or one of them, at least! After signing his contract with ABS-CBN, Richard revealed that he would be working once again with Angel Locsin, who he had shared the big and small screen with years back. For now, we can expect to see them both on La Luna Sangre and soon, on an upcoming movie called “Wife Husband Wife” with Angelica Panganiban under Star Cinema.
2. It’s but another way to bond with his family. His partner of five years, the multihyphenate Sarah Lahbati, has been keeping busy with her own projects. But, as if it weren’t coincidence, the two recently celebrated the pilot episode of Richard’s show La Luna Sangre and Sarah’s movie premiere of Ang Pangsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz on the same day! Only time will tell if the couple will be co-stars once more. For now, we’re relishing over how cute it is that she (and the entire Gutz clan!) can cheer him on as he appears or performs on stage.
3. We get to see new sides to him. Actors who want to improve their craft will gladly take on a role that is outside their comfort zone. Richard playing an evil vampire leader is a good example. “It’s [the] first time that I’ll be portraying something like this. Dream role ko ‘to so it’s an offer I couldn’t refuse,” he said in the press conference for his contract signing.

4. His grateful, go-getter attitude will take him places. Just because he landed a coveted spot on television with some of today’s hottest actors doesn’t mean he’s been banking solely on his talent. In an interview with Star Cinema, he admitted that did “a lot of research” on vampire origins hit the gym, and took acting workshops to better prepare for La Luna Sangre. All those, plus his excitement over working with new directors and production teams for the first time in his career are very telling of the effort he’s putting into these opportunities!
