Mod Moms: First-Ever PBB Winner Nene Tamayo–A Toughie Turned Softie Thanks To Motherhood

Motherhood is such a rewarding and wonderful experience. At times, however, it can also be a huge challenge. Nothing can truly prepare you for the sheer, overwhelming experience of what it means to become a mother. It is a journey full of complex emotions of joy, exhaustion, love, and worry, all mixed together. But, if there's anyone who can rise to the task, it would be Nene Tamayo. Fondly known as 'Kumander Nene' of the first Pinoy Big Brother, she brings her a-game everyday, throwing herself wholeheartedly into the task of motherhood while managing her thriving food business.

What for you is a Mod Mom?

What kind of stuff about your mom life do you usually share online?

"Family kasi for me is the most important thing in my life.

What’s the most touching comment from strangers you’ve received on social media?

Meron nga nag- comment doon na, 'Mommy, may I follow you kasi natutuwa ako na-i-inspire ako sa parenting style mo.'"

What do you think is the worst stereotype people have of moms?

May kanya-kanya tayong preferences. Mahilig kasing mag-compare. Just accept that we are diverse."

Who’s your role model and why?

"Si Ernest Cu, the President of Globe Telecom. Napaka-simple. Napakaamo. Parang hindi siya CEO. There was a time na nandun kami noong New Year's Eve sa kanila.

Best beauty tip?

"Dapat talaga kahit papaano yung iwasan yung pagpupuyat. Kung gusto mong maging masaya kang nanay, gusto mong maging masaya ang tao, wag ite-take for granted yung pagtulog."

What diet do you most recommended?

Laging back to basics.

What’s your favorite workout?

"Running lang and walking the dog kasi masaya ako sa ganoon. Noong may pasok, halos everyday. Since ngayon, medyo natatanghali na ako ng gising, thrice a week na lang. Pero babalik ulit ako."

How do you usually react when you are called sexy?
(Laughs)"

What’s your take on breastfeeding?

"Nag-breastfeed ako for six months.
