UP SIKAT, or the UP Sirkulo ng Kabataang Artista, is a College of Arts & Letters (CAL)-based organization in the University of the Philippines Diliman that encourages artists of all kinds to use their talent and voice for their advocacies.?? Having the banner statement, “Sining. Boses. Pagbabago,” the advocacy of UP SIKAT is to promote performance art as an avenue to raise awareness regarding social issues and to pave way for social change.?
This Women’s Month, the organization expressed its support for women’s rights by sharing empowering poems online from poets like Joi Barrios, a famous feminist poet and teacher of Philippine Literature at the University of California, Berkeley, and Kisha Beringuela, a Speech Communications student at University of the Philippines Diliman.
