March is almost here, and now’s the best time to head north of Manila and take advantage of the windier weather. If you need a place to stay that’s not a hotel or resort, Neri Naig-Miranda can gladly offer hers!

Fondly called Neri’s Cottage, this two-story dwelling rests at the heart of Tagaytay. Right now it’s open for rent, whether you want to stay a week, a month, a night, or even just for an event. It’s also a great option for those of you coming in groups of six or eight.
Over the last couple of months, the wife and mom has poured her heart into refurbishing this cozy space. This is what it looked like before any of the furniture was placed.
But now, it's totally ready for occupancy! Come see for yourselves.
The first thing guests will notice is this gate, which she painted white to match the overall color scheme of the cottage.
Across the blue framed door (which you'll see after entering gate) is a newly-installed CCTV that's perfect for added security! Neri also invites guests to leave handwritten notes in the trunk she placed at the center. "Kung gusto nyong mag-release ng sama ng loob sa kung sino, mas makakagaan ng loob kapag maisulat mo lahat sa papel. O pasasalamat kahit kanino. Kapag may time ako, pwede ko rin kayong sulatan basta may address kayong iiwan. Masarap din kase na makatanggap ng sulat ngayon. Usually text messages o email na lang ang mga narereceive natin," she says.

Fun fact: Neri opted for a red ref so the cottage wouldn’t look too “girly."
Here’s her dining set. The tables and chairs used to be brown but, much like the gate, she repainted them white.
Also repainted was this china cabinet. Besides keeping tableware and silverware here, you can use it to store giveaways (if you're only planning to rent the cottage for an event).
The second floor used to have two rooms. But after they bought the cottage, Neri decided to make it look more like a loft “para has maluwag ang space sa taas.”
Guests needing some quiet time can sit by this cozy reading area. It’s even got a full-length mirror (which is especially handy for when you need a last-minute check before walking out the door)!
Neri said a small table and reading lamp will eventually be added "para kumplete na kapag magbabasa ka ng paborito mong libro kahit gabi na".
Four sets of these windows were placed for better ventilation and appreciation of the trees.
The beddings are similar to what the Mirandas have in their actual home. If this isn't enough, bigger groups of guests can make use of the cottage’s pull out bed (which fits six).
In Neri’s words, “Pwede rin gamitin ang cottage for maternity photo shoot."
As careful as Neri was in laying out what she wanted in the cottage, she also made sure to maximize the space outside it.
That blue door up ahead is where the dirty kitchen is. The benefit of cooking here instead of inside the cottage is, according to Neri, “para kapag gagawa ako ng gourmet tuyo, di mangangamoy sa loob ng cottage yung tuyo.” Beside it are bamboo plants and citronella plants.
Another fun fact: Neri decided to cover the dirt with gravel because “maputik talaga kapag umuulan. Para ok din sa mga bisita namin.”
Did we also mention that there’s a calamansi tree?
That's Neri's husband, Parokya Ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, attending to it.
On another corner is a little bahay kubo. Neri will soon add a little dining set to it, plus some string lights.
Book it, we're sure you won't regret it! For reservations and other inquiries about Neri’s Cottage, please text or Viber +63926-0638944.
