We weren’t kidding when we said in our teaser that we’ve got an exciting special featuring UAAP basketball players and courtside reporters like you’ve never seen them before—because, really, while these cuties have already proven their mettle on the court (for the former), and in front of the camera as sports journalists (for the latter), and in general as student-athletes juggling the demands of both worlds, there’s one thing we knew they have yet to explore more: Fashion!
We also knew that they’d all have a blast getting out of their comfort zone as much as we’d enjoy seeing them enter this uncharted territory, so we asked the eight courtside reporters of UAAP Season 79 to pick out a baller from the school they represent whom they’d like to play dress up with. The challenge? Choose an outfit for each other that can take your partner from day (school/work) to night (gimmick or date). We brought them to the F&H, where they had an extensive array of stylish pieces for both men and women to choose from.
It’s safe to say that they’re all gifted in the fashion department as well, even if they all said that they had a tough time putting together the outfits (good job, guys!)—we won’t be surprised if you’d be looking for the pieces they picked out so you can rock them yourself.
Wanna know who’s the bestest stylist of them all? We’ll let these videos do the talking!
Stef Monce and Dawn Ochea of the Adamson University Soaring Falcons. Two words: Fun and fasyon.
Denice Dinsay and Isaac Go of the Ateneo Blue Eagles. They might've had a challenging time looking for sizes, but the final looks are totally cool and wearable.
Bea Escudero and Ricci Rivero of the De La Salle Green Archers. These two sure know the power of polished minimalism.
Ganiel Krishnan and Kenneth Tuffin of the Far Eastern University Tamaraws. That cute romper is a must-have in any girl's closet!
Ira Pablo and Kyle Neypes of the National University Bulldogs. This real-life couple is just too sweet that styling just got even cuter.
Paui Verzosa and Renz Palma of the University of the East Red Warriors. Love how Paui's perky personality balances out Renz' shyness, and how their chosen looks are on point.
Niña Alvia and Jett Manuel of the UP Fighting Maroons. This academically-smart pair is also gifted with style smarts. And oh, you'll like their tribute to Oble, too.
Angelique Manto and Louie Vigil of the UST Growling Tigers. Despite the traffic they had to endure to get to the venue, this duo was still all-focused during the challenge!
Let us know which pair's style game impressed you the most in the comments section below!
