Here's a routine that's guaranteed to boost your energy and metabolism. Before you get in the shower, spend your first five minutes awake in the morning doing this high intensity interval training your body will thank you for.  

Brian Red of FTX Fitness Exchange recommends a quick but effective workout routine that will only take you five minutes to accomplish:

High Knees- 10 seconds [instructions here]

Jumping Jacks - 20 seconds [instructions here]

Rest - 10 seconds

Burpees 20 - seconds [instructions here]

Rest - 10 seconds

Jump Squats - 20 seconds [instructions here]

Rest - 10 seconds

Lunges - 20 seconds [instructions here]

Jog in place - 60 seconds / 1 minute

Jumping Jacks - 20 seconds

Rest - 10 seconds

Burpees - 20 seconds

Rest - 10 seconds

Jump Squats - 20 seconds

Rest - 10 seconds

Lunges - 20 seconds

Rest - 10 seconds

 

So easy, right? And five minutes is such a small amount of time, but with this workout, you're definitely getting the most out of it. Just make sure to do as much (as many reps) as you can within the allotted time and in proper form for maximum results.
