When Department of Tourism (DOT) Sec. Wanda Teo said that around $12 million will be needed to fund the Philippines' hosting of the 65th Miss Universe, people felt skeptical about spending such amount for a month-long event, but Teo explained that the money will be acquired from the private sector, and not from public funds. And true enough, sponsors are coming in left and right, very well making this once far-fetched dream a soon-to-be reality.

Recently, former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson revealed in an interview with TV Patrol's Mario Dumaual that the vehicles the Miss Universe candidates will be using for the month-long stay in the Philippines will be ready soon.
These include more than two dozen party buses bearing the "Confidently Beautiful" slogan of Miss Universe, a 148-passenger private jet, and a three-floor high luxury yacht named "Miss Universe."
In addition to the vehicles, Singson revealed that establishments such as City of Dreams Manila, Okada Manila, Conrad Hotel, Resorts World Manila, Solaire Resort and Casino, and Mall of Asia Arena are among his partners in making the event possible.
"Nung ako kinausap, nakita ko na maganda ito para sa tourism natin," Singson said during a press conference at his home in Corinthian Gardens, agreeing with Teo's sentiments earlier on why they want the Philippines to host the next Miss Universe pageant.
