For years now, Chalk has been at the forefront of discovering the best and brightest young talents from the fields of music, fashion, theater, and entrepreneurship, among others, through the Chalk Bright Young Manila Search. "We want to make sure that the brand stays true to the spirit of college campus life, and who better to represent the lifestyle but the student themselves," says Chalk Editor-in-Chief Elaine Carag.
This year, Chalk has yet embarked on its annual mission to find fresh new talent with the looks, brains, and guts, as it opens the online nominations and applications for the Chalk Bright Young Manila Search. It runs from June 1-26, 2016 so if you think you or someone you know fits the bill, then nominate away (visit chalkmagazine.abs-cbn.com now)! Elaine notes, "We are looking for the complete package. One boy and one girl who exudes confidence in his/her own skin, keeps up to date with what's on trend, and expresses his/her unique self. S/he is a role model to his/her peers and the rest of the school."
You'll be in good company, as these successful hotties are your Chalk BYM predecessors:
Richard Hwan. He won the campaign last 2014 and he has since graced televison as one of the housemates of the hit reality show Pinoy Big Brother and has also become one of the hosts of Upfront at the UAAP.
Bianca Sing. Young as she is, Bianca has already made a name for herself, she's now established a name for herself in the PR and Digital industry alongside her being a fashion stylist and a lifestyle blogger.
Ganiel Krishnan. The UAAP Season 78 FEU Courtside reporter is also a Star Magic artist appearing on various shows on ABS-CBN, as well as an events host.
Akiko Abad. She has went on to become one of the 'it' models of today, conquering the runway and print modeling, and is also an in-demand influencer.
Maqui Castelo. Chalk BYM 2015 male grand winner Maqui Castelo has chosen to harness his talent behind-the-scenes, venturing into commercial and video production (he has put up his own company, along with his friends).
Zoe Vinluan. More impressive than Zoe's unique beauty and charm, is her unwavering confidence and commitment to helping the kids and the elderly. In fact, Zoe spent her 18th birthday without a grand debutante ball. Instead, she opted to use her special day to share her blessings with 200 kids!
