The Mall of Asia Arena might be too far a venue, but Jason Derulo and Redfoo made the trek to the other side of the metro well worth it, during their concert last May 27.
Redfoo hyping up the crowd with "Party Rock," a great indication of the fun Friday night they had in store.
The warm reception for Redfoo's trademark party rock style (which we last grooved to in 2012 when Redfoo performed here with his then group, LMFAO) proved that Manila still has a penchant for the older hits, dancing and shuffling to the beat just like at any rave party, but in the spirit of good, clean fun. Instead of illegal substances, props like inflatable toys, glow sticks, clappers, and foamfingers dominated Redfoo's jam session:
Being close to his fans (and being a partyphile himself), Redfoo even invited a few members from the audience to party on stage, and do the “Party Train”:
Select audience members up on stage ...
...dancing through Redfoo's "Party Train". All fun, no vices indeed!
With Redfoo’s beats (and dancing skills) enough to pump up the crowd, everyone was all high energy when it was Jason Derulo's turn up onstage.
Six years later, and Jason is the same all-around performer he was, only better.
And just like Redfoo, Jason invited a lucky audience member as he performed his hit song “It Girl,” to the delight of the crowd:
Getting serenaded and hugged by Jason on stage? It's definitely a dream come true for this girl!
Impressed by the overall reception of the crowd the second time around, Jason took a few minutes to reminisce his performance back in 2010, and how he has gained more fans and avid six years later.
Even if he is more famous now, Jason remains to be close to his fans.
His advice to the crowd? “Whatever it is you love, what you love doing, do it all the time.” Four albums, several hit songs, and a few awards later, Jason has proven to be the all-around performer everyone loves, and still remains to be as humble as he was when he was starting off.
With such an impressive crowd, Jason made one promise: That a third trip to Manila is possible in the near future.
