When talking to Miguel, you’ll instantly know you’re talking to someone smart. Don’t stereotype him as the typical model, as the Professional Models Association of the Philippines member and runway and editorial mainstay, in reality, has a swimming pot of knowledge inside his head. He may exude a certain suplado vibe to people, but what most don’t know is he’s a warm and friendly person. “It’s when I start talking and getting comfortable that I really connect to the people.” As a Financial Advisor, this skill is very important, and he hasn’t a lack of it. Read on for his legit advice on love, style, life, and of course, finance:
On accepting the person you love, flaws and all: "It’s like the rule of 80/20. If you look for a girl, settle for the 80, don’t look for the 20. Kasi that 20 might be the reason why you don’t like her, and you can work on the 20 percent."
On dressing up for work: "If you’re working, I know you have to look your best but still, on a daily basis, go for comfort."
On the best things to do in life: "Traveling, pursuing your passion, and spending time with people you love."
On what he learned from his job: "As a financial advisor, I’ve learned that investing for yourself should have been early. Next, there are two things that are certain: Death and taxes. You cannot escape death, but you can only prevent it and save your family's future by getting financial insurance. You cannot escape taxes, but you can prevent from paying high taxes. Be smart in your choices."
