Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach finally made her triumphant return to Manila, a much-awaited homecoming a month after winning the crown in Las Vegas.
She arrived 6AM on Saturday, January 23, aboard Philippine Airlines flight PR 538 and then proceeded to the NAIA Terminal 2 VIP Lounge to meet her welcoming party. Pia then gave a few remarks.
"Thank you very much for coming here. I know it's quite early, but I appreciate your taking your time to come here," Pia said as she stepped on the podium.
"I don't want to reveal too much because I'm saving all my stories and my experiences for the press conference that will be happening tomorrow," she added.
She said she had been sleepless in excitement ahead of her return to the country.
“I was so excited I wasn’t able to sleep last night. And every time I think about my trip back here, I tear up a little bit because I feel like it has been so long and I have so many things to share,” Pia said in a short message.
She added she is so happy to be back, and that she was so thrilled that it seemed she was to compete in the pageant again.
Pia then left the airport en route to her official quarters during her stay, the Novotel Araneta Center.
As you can see, Pia is under tight security fit for a queen!
