Don’t you just envy those girls who step out of the plane looking as polished as they did when they boarded it? I was on an international trip once with this lovely lady who was all made up for our departure from Manila, cat eyes and all—at 3 am. 16 hours later when we landed in the UK, she looked just as fresh! I’m sure she went the extra mile to look fantastic the whole time (by all means, advisable, if you have the skills and the resources), but the good news is, there's an easy alternative: Looking effortlessly chic when traveling doesn’t have to be as tedious as packing your luggage, as Anne Curtis showed during her trip to Cebu for the second leg of the #KapamilyaThankYou caravan.
Anne and the rest of the It’s Showtime team were warmly welcomed by the Cebuanos, and the beautiful host, albeit only decked in a plain black tee and gray sweatpants, still exuded stellar style because of her accessories of choice: Oversized eyewear and a fedora. Here are three reasons her low-maintenance ensemble works, and how you can put together one, too:
It’s in a neutral, laidback palette. Black and gray are both mysterious colors that don’t get dirty, so they’re ideal for traveling because you don’t need to worry about keeping them pristine.
The slouchy silhouette screams c-o-o-l. While tailored pieces are forever wardrobe essentials, it’s wise to go for more relaxed, slouchy items when traveling for maximum comfort and optimum style—they’ll still look as cool even if you’ve slept in them.
Her accessories give her look much oomph. Plus, they hide the fact that she’s not wearing any makeup and hasn’t gotten her hair done. Oversized sunnies and fedoras are up there when it comes to wardrobe pick-me-uppers when traveling, so make sure you have at least one of each.
Traveling in style is a must these days, so don’t get caught looking losyang—remember, it's easy to look just as fab as Anne with the right pieces.
