‘Tis the season when everyone gets to cheer for their Alma Mater.
With mainstream competitions, such as basketball, currently happening, students of UAAP-member schools will do everything possible to cheer for their Alma Mater and heighten the morale of their basketball team.
In this regard, there are so many ways to show support for your school during these competitions. Here are some ways we can really show your awesome school spirit at the games.
Dress up to your school’s colors
Let’s start with the basics. Color plays an important role in showing support, as it represents what the school is all about. Examples of this? One wears blue to show that he is a true-blue Atenean, while one would don green to show animo as a La Sallian, and another would wear something that is vibrantly red to showcase that he is a warrior who comes from UE.
Wearing your school’s colors is not limited to shirts alone. In fact, you can don your school’s colors through your pants, shorts, shoes, and even socks.
Level things up through accessories or by wearing a themed costume
If you think wearing your school’s colors is not enough, you can level things up by donning accessories to spice up your game day outfit. These can range from face paint, necklaces, bracelets, to headgear. Fancy wearing a tamaraw-shaped necklace to show your support for FEU? Or a falcon-themed headgear, to show your support for Adamson? Those can do!
Still want to level things up and stand above the crowd? You can choose to wear themed costumes, just like what broadcast journalist and news presenter Tina Marasigan did a few years back to show her full support for UST, her Alma Mater.
Be there as your school performs during the Cheerdance Competition
Do you think the NU Pep Squad will become three-peat champions or will contenders UP Pep Squad, FEU Cheering Squad or the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe re-claim lost glory? Or is it possible for the rest of the UAAP teams pull a surprise?
Yes, it’s that time of the year for the eight UAAP schools to outshine, outlast, outperform each other to become the 2015 UAAP Cheerdance Competition Champion.
Cheer for your school through Twitter
Whether you will be at Mall of Asia Arena on October 3 to watch the competition, or you will be at home monitoring the performances through TV and social media, you can cheer for your school through Twitter with #McDoBonFries.
