Grande is coming to the Philippines in a few days, and fans, including celebrities like Liza and Ella, are very excited to see the “Love Me Harder” singer perform in Mall of Asia Arena on August 23.
Being a global superstar, it is not surprising that our local actors and actresses are big fans of Grande. Liza Soberano and Ella Cruz explain how they are a big fan of Grande, and how she has influenced their careers.
Liza looks up to Grande because of her ability to sing, dance, and act, all in spite of being a small girl, albeit with a big voice. “In the industry I’m in you have to be able to do all of that also,” said Liza. In fact, Grande is Liza’s career peg, from the way Grande dresses and from the way she performs on stage.
Given the chance, Liza is definitely excited to meet Grande backstage during her visit to Manila. “If that happened I would tell her I love her and ask if I can have a hug [from her],” Liza said on what she will probably do if she gets to meet Grande up close.
As for Ella Cruz, She considers Grande as her peg as both of them share the same petite frame, of which she follows Grande’s fashion sense with the way she dresses. “Bilang maliit siya, yun technique niya para magmukhang matangkad ginagamit ko rin,” Ella shared.
In fact, Ella shared that she found out after Googling Grande that they actually have the same height.
With regards to Grande’s career as a singer, Ella likes the way Grande sing and handles all those high notes in her songs and covers. Also, Ella loves at how Grande’s songs are very upbeat. “Yun mga kanta niya, upbeat lahat, [at] hindi sad songs. Talagang danceable siya,” Ella said.
Just like Liza, Ella would also hug Grande and tell her how much she idolizes her given the chance. In fact, it is a definite must for Ella to get VIP tickets to Grande’s concert no matter how difficult it was.
“Nakatambay na agad ako . . . talagang nag-antay ako,” Ella recounted on purchasing VIP tickets on the first day of selling.
