Ramen and contemporary Japanese cinema headline Eiga Sai 2015
Yes, it is mostly about Japanese Cuisine and contemporary cinema for this year’s Eiga Sai.

The anticipated Japanese Film Festival, which will be held from July 9 to 19 at Shangri-La Cineplex, will be showcasing 11 films. Five of the films will be focusing on contemporary Japanese Cinema, while the other five films are documentaries focusing on Japanese cuisine.

Japan Foundation Manila Organization (JFMO) Director Shuji Takatori explained during the press conference on June 23 that it is good timing for them to showcase documentaries about Japanese cuisine due to the second wave of Japanese food coming to the Philippines.

“We believe that another wave of Japanese food such as ramen and sushi has come to the Philippines, so it is very timely,” said Takatori.

After the presscon, members of the press were treated to a screening of Japanese contemporary film “Parasyte”.

Aside from “Parasyte”, here are the list of films that will be shown:

Opening Film:

Our Family
