Grooms-to-Be, Take Your Cue From These Celebs To Look Dapper On Your Wedding Day

One of the most awaited—if not the most awaited—moments at every wedding is the appearance of the bride: Everyone just can’t wait to see the gown she’s wearing, her makeup and hairstyle, her bouquet, her veil… as for the groom, well, the only requisite is that he looks polished and dapper, far from his usual cool dude (think: shirt, jeans/shorts, kicks) style. If he's got on a pair of interesting shoes to match his formal attire, then he gets more style points, hence, we admire the grooms who stepped up to the plate (not just literally in extra special footwear!) and matched the exuberance of their wives, fashion-wise. Here are six celebrity grooms whose wedding day styles we think are worth noting:

Zoren Legaspi. Planning a surprise wedding takes an enormous amount of effort, so Zoren Legaspi deserves a standing ovation for pulling off his flawlessly. On that day, not only did Carmina Villarroel get her dream wedding, she also had a dashing groom to boot, whose strong physique was highlighted by the classic tuxedo he chose to wear. Grooms, avoid regret and cringing when you look at your wedding photos by making sure your suit is tailor made to fit you (have it adjusted according to your proportions if you bought it off the rack).

Jericho Rosales. For his beach wedding with Kim Jones, Jericho went for an earth-toned suit—relaxed yet still appropriate for a Christian ceremony. One of the most stylish actors of his generation, he couldn’t have picked a more timeless look for this special day. A khaki suit is a great alternative to the usual black, especially if your wedding is going to be held outdoors.

Dingdong Dantes. Dingdong defied convention by not opting for a barong for his wedding, nor for a black suit. Instead, he wore a cream suit jacket, which went perfectly well with their wedding’s modern Filipiniana theme—and needless to say, his bride Marian Rivera’s stunning gown. It's your wedding day, so make like Dingdong and bend suit style and color rules.

Patrick Garcia. Another groom who went for a different colored suit jacket is Patrick Garcia—but more than the jacket, it’s the way he layered his wedding outfit that earned him major style points. On top of his white buttondown, he put on a waistcoat, and then his suit jacket after. Whoever said only brides can have fun with their look?

John Prats. John Prats and Isabel Oli’s Four Seasons-themed wedding is one of the most innovative in Philippine history, but for his suit, John went the traditional route. It was still uniquely him though, as he added his personal touch by way of a white (instead of a black) cummerbund and a “love” pin. Other accessories which can add a unique touch to a groom's outfit are cufflinks, belts, and ties.

Paul Soriano. Toni Gonzaga’s groom, and now husband, has always leaned towards simple, classic, clean cut looks, and his suit for their wedding day was no exception. In a Hugo Boss tuxedo, Paul made so many hearts beat faster as he looked on and waited for his bride. Pair your well-tailored suit with an equally clean-cut, yet stylish, hairstyle, like Paul's, for more dapper points.
